Exploring paper as a medium, Petra Hotel hosts Traces of Forms, a temporary exhibition by artist Inka Bell.
The second instalment in its ongoing series, Petra Hotel continues to explore the dialogue between art, design and hospitality with a temporary exhibition featuring works by Inka Bell, curated in collaboration with Bricks Gallery. Available to see until 15 September, the installation showcases Bell’s unique approach to material exploration and precise graphic alignment.
Located on the ground floor of Petra Hotel, with interiors by &Tradition, the artworks merge with the everyday rhythm of the hotel. New arrivals check in, guests enjoy breakfast, and locals stop by for a drink, all while encountering the works as an integrated part of the space. Rather than existing as a traditional gallery display, the exhibition invites visitors to experience the art as a natural extension of daily life, encouraging moments of discovery and interaction.
Traces of Forms
Within the exhibition, Bell continues her exploration of paper as both a sculptural and visual material. Often working with geometric forms, she examines how shape, colour, and surface interact to create a sense of movement and spatial interplay. Through her measured, structured approach, each hand-assembled piece carries material traces of its own making, capturing both the possibilities and the fragility of paper. Her works appear to shift and evolve, as if one form is slowly transforming into another. Whether in her reliefs or screen prints, the compositions exist in a quiet state of change; they contain traces of forms that have been, while giving rise to new and unexpected ones that challenge our understanding of paper as a medium.
Inka Bell is exhibiting at Petra Hotel until mid-September. Visitors can stop by to view the work and stay to enjoy a cup of coffee and a bite to eat. Guests wishing for more time to engage with the artworks are welcome to dine at Petra Bar & Restaurant – booking in advance is recommended to secure a table.
